2011 Service Accomplishments
848 Jewish children, ages 6 months to 8 years, served in the PJ Library Program during 2011
215 Jewish youth and 28 institutionalized adults were provided 2011 Hanukkah gift sets and hand-made cards
300 JCRS camp scholarship aid recipients attended 37 different Jewish overnight camps
120 undergraduate students, attending 84 different colleges, received financial aid
65 Jewish youth served in Special Needs/case management. 50 received 2011 funding for disability and/or dependency needs. See details below.
70 of our most dependent, isolated or functionally challenged children received birthday cards and other recognition for accomplishments or life cycle events throughout the year in our Special Friends Club
55 grandparents and guardians, who are rearing Jewish grandchildren, enrolled in the Grandparents, Special Parent’s and Guardians’ Club across the region
56 parents have attended at least one monthly meeting of the Parents of Troubled adults support group
23 students from immigrant families received college aid
50 youth with emotional and/or developmental disorders, and/or dependency needs, received funding for various services and therapies. These include youth with autistic spectrum disorders, mood and anxiety disorders, cognitive, speech/language and other developmental delays, ADHD and other learning differences
19 single Jewish fathers have attended at least one monthly meeting of the Single Dad’s Club (since inception in 2008)
5 grandparent-led families, with a total of 7 grandchildren, attending our monthly support group in Greater New Orleans
