JCRS was selected to receive a KOVOD Award by the Association of Jewish Family and Children’s Agencies (AJFCA) at the April 2012 Annual Conference held in Houston, TX.
The category for the award was “Best Practices in Connecting Judaism to Client Programming,” and the submission was entitled “JCRS Interconnected Network of Programs.” The application asked for an agency to select one program, but JCRS had difficulty deciding which of its seven major programs had more Jewish content than the others. JCRS elected to submit an application emphasizing how the content of each program supported Jewish identity and outreach and fostered client/ family participation in both Jewish life and other JCRS programs.
